P. Kyle Summers

DO; Vein Specialist

Dr. Kyle Summers, triple board-certified in general surgery, cosmetic surgery, and facial cosmetic surgery, is excited to join The Vein Institute family. “It is an honor to join such a wonderful group. The care provided is exceptional, and the ancillary staff are second to none.”

Born and raised in rural Northern Utah, Dr. Summers developed a strong work ethic and appreciation for dedication, perseverance, and service from an early age while helping with the many responsibilities of a family farm. Outside of farm life, he could be found participating in sports, working in the woodshop, or spending time with family and friends. After high school, Dr. Summers spent two years serving a church-related mission in Guatemala, where he became fluent in Spanish and gained a deep appreciation for different cultures and communities.

Dr. Summers’ path to medicine began after returning from Guatemala and attending the University of Utah, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology and was recognized on the Dean’s List for his academic achievements. “I have always been fascinated by the human body—its incredible ability to heal and adapt. This naturally led me to pursue medicine, a field that is as dynamic and remarkable as the human body itself.”

He earned his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, where he excelled in neuromuscular medicine and developed a strong foundation in hands-on healing. Understanding the importance of treating patients with both knowledge and skill, Dr. Summers served as President of the neuromuscular medicine chapter and represented the school at various national meetings.

Following medical school, Dr. Summers moved to Long Island, New York, where he completed five years of rigorous general surgery training. His education included extensive experience with vascular surgical teams, providing him with comprehensive exposure to complex surgical care. Throughout his residency, Dr. Summers became known for his compassion, leadership, and surgical expertise, ultimately serving as Chief Resident during his final year of training. His commitment to advancing surgical knowledge and improving patient outcomes is reflected in his published research on breast cancer and innovations in breast cancer treatment. He also received special recognition for his outstanding service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr. Summers went on to complete fellowship training in general and facial cosmetic surgery with Southern Surgical Arts. With a longstanding passion for cosmetic surgery, he is dedicated to helping patients achieve natural, confident results through honest guidance, compassionate care, and a thorough understanding of surgical artistry.

Dr. Summers, his wife Amanda, and their two sets of twins under the age of five are proud to call Chattanooga home. Outside of caring for patients and spending time with his family, Dr. Summers enjoys working out, critiquing movies, and exploring the beauty of the great outdoors.

John Jordi

PTA

John received training as a Physical Therapist Assistant from St. Catherine University, Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1993. In 2007, he earned a B.S. in Business Administration (summa cum laude) from Bryan College, Dayton, Tennessee.

John has been a therapist for over 30 years. His early background includes treatment of strokes, brain injuries, and wound care.  Since 1999 he has specialized in lymphedema treatment and research in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Most recently he served as Clinic Director of a physical therapy clinic specializing in lymphedema, venous disease, and custom garment fittings. Currently he is the Clinical Manager for Juzo USA, in addition to treating lymphedema and CVI at The Vein Institute in Chattanooga. Additionally, he is the owner of Compression Consultants as an expert fitter for upper and lower extremity compression and custom compression garments.

John is now an instructor for Klose Training. He is also an adjunct instructor for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he teaches the lymphedema portion of the doctorate program. He was a senior instructor for Academy of Lymphatic Studies (ACOLS) for 16 years. John has been a speaker at Juzo Power Symposium, Klose training, NLN and AVLS. John recently received his Expert Clinician certification from the National Lymphedema Network.

John recently has had the opportunity to travel abroad and lectured and taught labs at Foldi Clinic and taught class for Klose Advanced Class (Hinterzarten, Germany) as well as lectured in Copenhagen, Denmark. John is a co-founder of the Juzo app as well as Edematrack (measuring program for lymph therapists). John has been published 4 times and provides the clinical expertise for the research publications with Vanderbilt University and Western Carolina University. These articles have appeared in
Radiology, Journal of Lymphoedema, and Lymphatic Research and Biology. John also consults with other universities and businesses in continued research related to lymphedema. John also offers no-charge seminars to therapists in his area on topics such as: difficult garment fittings, billing issues and wrapping techniques for therapists.

John has also recently obtained CEU credits for his newly written “Master Fitter” program with Juzo on hard to fit and Made to Measure compression garments.

While John managed the Siskin Hospital lymphedema program, the facility was noted in two journals:
MD News, for its inpatient and outpatient program, and Rehab Management Journal, for providing one of only two inpatient programs for Stage 3 lymphedema patients which he initiated. He also managed a free fitting clinic twice a month to any lymphedema patients who had need, he initiated a patient endowment fund at Siskin Hospital to assist patients with the cost of compression garments and he organized a support group for those with lymphedema.

John W. Waller

DPT

John W. completed his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science at Berry College in 2014 and went on to earn his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2017.

John W. has worked as a therapist in an outpatient clinic, also serving as a Clinic Director, treating various orthopedic, neurological, vestibular, and post-operative cases. During this time, John was certified in ASTYM, dry needling, and received training with the Maitland and Great Lakes manual therapy programs. Later, he transitioned to working in home health helping patients regain their strength, mobility, and quality of life in the comfort of their homes.

Through his experiences, John has come to view lymphatic care as a vital yet often overlooked component of healthcare, which led to him pursuing certification as a Lymphedema Therapist through Klose Training. He believes that addressing lymphatic dysfunction is frequently the missing piece for patients struggling with chronic swelling, pain, and mobility limitations, and he considers lymphedema therapy one of the most valuable and impactful skill sets he brings to his practice. These beliefs served as the driving force to open TheraFlow alongside John Jordi and provide exceptional lymphatic care to the community.

John W. was diagnosed as a diabetic at a young age. He is an avid weightlifter and values this hobby as a cornerstone of his physical and mental well-being, helping him stay healthy, manage his condition, and lead by example for his patients. Living with a chronic disease has given him a unique perspective when working with patients with lymphedema and other chronic diseases.
